ESL Curriculum

The focus of the English as a Second Language courses at NECC is totally academic. Our goal is to prepare students to use English at a college level. The curriculum includes courses in ESL Writing with Grammar, ESL Reading, and ESL Listening and Speaking. This curriculum is not appropriate for beginners in English or English Literacy or  Survival Skills. Although NECC offers a comprehensive ESL curriculum, the majority of students do not need all the courses. Placement in the courses is determined through the assessment process.
