Computer & Information Sciences: Information Technology Option
Businesses and organizations increasingly rely on computers for their day-to-day operations in order to increase efficiency, success and profitability. These computers need to be networked, maintained, and supported by computer operations specialists. If you are analytical, technical, and adaptable, a career in IT (information Technology) may be for you.
By completing NECC’s Associate in Science Degree in Computer and Information Sciences: Information Technology Option, you will learn about the core aspects of IT, including computer hardware, applications software, the Internet and Web Page Development, computer networks, information security, interactive media and programming and operating systems. You will learn how each IT area relates to and interacts with each other, and gain an understanding the impact of technology on society and organizations of all types.
Graduates will be able to pursue many career paths. You may choose to transfer on to a bachelor’s program, or directly enter the work force. If you choose to enter the workforce directly, you could work as computer operator, computer software technician, project manager, and more.
