Are you seeking an exciting career where you can serve the public? Are you are interested in the legal system, corrections system, law enforcement, or security? Then a career in criminal justice could be for you. If you have good communications skills, possess good judgment and decision-making skills, and handle stress well, you have the qualities essential for a successful career in criminal justice.
By completing the Associate in Science Degree in Criminal Justice, you will learn about and analyze the various aspects of the criminal justice system, including the court system, the corrections system, and law enforcement. The program is designed to take a systems approach to understanding the crime problem in the United States. Since approximately 75% of NECC’s Criminal Justice graduates continue their education after completing their degree, the program has a broad, academic orientation, facilitating transfer to four-year institutions.
Graduates will be able to pursue many career paths. You may choose to transfer on to a bachelor’s program, or directly enter the work force. If you choose to enter the workforce directly, you could work as a municipal police officer, state trooper, correction officer, federal officer, insurance investigator, as well as in probation, parole, the court system and security.
