Transferring to a Four-Year College or University

Students are strongly encouraged to contact the Deaf Studies Program main extension at 978-556-3667 regarding their course selections to ensure transferability to a four-year college or university. Students may also refer to the Transfer Programs and Events page.

Typically, NECC provides an excellent starting point for students interested in pursuing Deaf Studies. They may either transfer to a four-year college or university for completion of their bachelor’s degree or enter a formal mentorship program for interpreters for the Deaf before they undergo certification exams for Sign Language Certification at the state level through the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) or national certification via the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
