A Strength & Conditioning Coach works with athletes to improve their sport specific fitness.

A Strength & Conditioning coach is able to evaluate an athlete’s strength’s and weaknesses and design year-round conditioning programs to address their individual and sport specific needs.

Strength & Conditioning coaches work primarily for colleges and universities.

Recently employment opportunities have been growing within high schools and private conditioning facilities.

An entry level degree for a Strength & Conditioning Coach is generally a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, health & fitness or athletic training.

A Strength & Conditioning coach may also have a degrees in physical therapy.

The primary professional association for Strength & Conditioning coaches: the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) .

The NSCA also offers the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS).
