If you are interested in pursuing an associate degree in nursing and you are already a licensed practical nurse in Massachusetts, then our Nursing: Advanced Placement Option: LPN to RN is a great opportunity for you. Each fall, we accept students who will follow a curriculum that can be completed in two semesters.
NECC offers LPNs an advanced placement option by allowing applicants to enter the second year of the Associate Degree in Nursing Program. Applicants must hold current licensure as an LPN in Massachusetts and have worked during the last three years.
Candidates must meet admission requirements and apply by the deadline. Students selected for the Advanced Placement will complete a one credit Nursing Transition Course during the summer before entry into the option. Once this course is completed, the student will be given credit for all the first year nursing courses.
Graduates will be able to pursue many career paths and could work in many different settings including hospitals, physicians’ offices, outpatient treatment facilities, and home care agencies. Job prospects are very good and expected to continue to grow.
The program is approved by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc., 3343 Peachtree Road, N.E., Suite 850, Atlanta, Georgia 30326, 404-975-5000.
