Radiologic Technology Program

Mission

The mission of the Radiologic Technology Program is to graduate competent entry level technologists who meet the healthcare needs of area facilities.

Goals of the program:

  1. To ensure graduates are academically and clinically prepared to sit for their national credentialing exam.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will demonstrate competency in performing diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Students will successfully complete the required competency evaluations for each clinical practicum course.
  • Students will meet or exceed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) competency requirements at program completion.
  1. To educate and train entry level technologists to provide competent and compassionate healthcare to culturally diverse populations.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
  • Students will demonstrate competent care to all patients.
  1. To promote the development of those intellectual skills and professional attitudes and values necessary for life-long learning.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will demonstrate professional ethics and behaviors in their clinical practice.
  • Students will use a variety of resources to earn continuing education credits while enrolled in the program.
  1. To ensure graduates have the computer skills, the written and oral communication skills; and the critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to practice successfully within the radiology profession.
Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will meet the requirement of the computer science elective.
  • Students will demonstrate these skills in performing radiographic procedures and during competency evaluation.
