If you are seeking a career working with state-of-the-art technologies including computers, laboratory equipment and electronic devices, then the Associate Degree in Electronic Technology is for you. Attention to detail, problem solving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work well with others are qualities that will lead to a successful career in electronic technology.
NECC’s Associate Degree in Electronic Technology will prepare you for a career in the field of electronic technology. The program combines coursework with practical laboratory and work experiences. To meet the needs of the majority of students who enroll in the Electronic Technology Program who work during the day, this program is offered evenings. Graduates will have highly marketable skills encompassing the use of state-of-the-art technologies including computers, laboratory equipment and electronic devices. Heavy emphasis is put on use of high-tech devices and laboratory equipment, and the preparation of complete, analytical laboratory reports.
Graduates will be able to pursue many career paths. You may choose to transfer on to a bachelor’s program, or directly enter the work force. If you choose to directly enter the workforce, you could seek work as an electrical or electronic engineering technician, which involves helping design, develop, test and manufacture electrical and electronic equipment as well as solving technical problems in research and development, manufacturing, sales, construction, inspection and maintenance; or as an electronics technician, which involves the installation, repair and maintenance of numerous electrical and electronic equipment and devices.
