If you think you want to earn your bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science, then starting at Northern Essex makes sense. By completing your first two years at NECC, you can save nearly $6,000 when you transfer to a public college and upwards of $40,000 if you transfer to a private college! NECC also offers many resources to help you succeed including computer labs, electronic labs, tutoring centers, a career and academic advising center, and a new state-of-the art Technology Center.
The Associate in Science Degree in Engineering Science will prepare you for transfer to a four-year college or university. A core curriculum has been developed in cooperation with the American Society for Engineering Education and the engineering divisions of several four-year institutions. You have the opportunity to explore various engineering fields in order to choose the field of specialization – computer/electrical, civil/mechanical, chemical/environmental – best suited to your interests and abilities. A strong background in mathematics is required.
Graduates will be able to pursue many career paths. After completing your bachelor’s degree, you could pursue work as a computer engineer, electrical engineer, civil engineer mechanical engineer, chemical engineer, or environmental engineer. According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook, starting salaries of engineers are significantly higher than those of college graduates in other fields.
