Photography
Are you interested in photography as a career or passionate hobby? Do you want to take consistently better photographs? This robust program of photography classes offers the flexibility to either take class of your particular interest or step through all of the skill-building modules for a complete learning experience. You will learn from hands-on projects, review sessions, gallery visits and also you may choose to participate in a culminating photography exhibit. You will master the necessary camera functions to create beautiful imagery. Technique, mechanical control and a deep exploration of light are the cornerstones of the classes below.
Make sure to sign up early! These photography classes fill very quickly due to their popularity.
Tuesday classes are for beginner students.
Wednesday classes are for students with an intermediate level of experience.
Thursday classes are for students with intermediate level of experience and designed to focus on applied projects or job specific topics.
Come learn the basic skills involved in photography, such as camera skills, and the use of light, exposure, and composition. Although this class is designed primarily for students just entering into photography for a hobby it also can be a refresher class. This class will also include projects to be done in between the classes & you bring in your prints of your photography projects for discussion. Bring your SLR (non-digital or digital) camera & accessories, manual, notebook, & read your manual before class.

Beyond Basic Photography
A project based class geared for you to continue and expand on your learning about lighting techniques. You will learn to “see” light will change the way you take photos and enhance your skills as a photographer. A series of assignments will step you through the process of recognizing various lighting situations and using them as a compositional tool. This class is the next step for basic photography students or those who have a fundamental knowledge of their camera functions. Bring your SLR (non-digital or digital) camera & accessories.

Photography Critique Sessions
These open forum discussions will enhance your photographic value through dialogue, suggestions, & encouragement. You will receive helpful feedback on up to 4 pieces of your work. Technique and composition will be the main areas of focus, so be prepared with basic exposure and composition details. Please bring printed photos, no smaller than 4×6.

Advance Light Projects – Intro to Flash Photography
An introduction to the basic techniques of using flash as a primary and secondary light source. Flash and its effects on your imagery will be explored through projects and classroom discussion. Advanced Light projects will explore the more creative ways – such as racking, panning and writing with light – to push the boundaries of available light. Studio Lighting
An introduction to the basic techniques and effects of studio strobe lighting. Through demonstrations and guided instruction, you will learn how to control and utilize strobes as the only light source.
