Are you starting or expanding a business involved in the creative arts? Whether a photographer, graphic designer, artist or craftsperson, you’ll learn critical elements to start or expand your business, including marketing and sales strategies, budgeting and financial recordkeeping. The Baby Boomer’s Business Start-Up Toolkit
Many Baby Boomers now start their own home-based business to keep active and make money rather than pursue their parents’ version of retirement. Other Baby Boomers start their own business because they can’t afford to retire, are afraid they will outlive their retirement funds or perhaps are unemployed, underemployed or just plain tired of the corporate rat race. Whatever your motivation, this interactive, practical workshop will walk you through the specific steps to take your business idea from concept to reality as you learn what you need to know and do to be succesful.

This program helps you think through your business, create a solid business plan and learn the skills and knowledge to confidently and successfully implement that plan. This 20 week daytime program consists of ten weeks of classroom training, guest speakers/subject matter experts, and consulting, one week of business plan presentations, plus nine weeks of independent work and one-on-one consulting. Instructor: experienced instructor and business consultant, Paul Jermain, of Jermain and Company. The next session is scheduled to begin April 16, 2013. This program is MA Section 30/ITA approved; some dislocated workers and others may qualify for tuition assistance.
