Learn the basic skills needed to be a bartender, including essential techniques, popular shaken and stirred drinks, beer, wine, garnishes, and glassware use. On-the-job problem solving and customer service basics will be discussed. The ServSafe Alcohol Certification exam will be given in class. Must be 18 years or over to take class.

Please note: The bartending program includes both of the following modules:

  1. ServSafe Alcohol Awareness Certification: Weeks 1–2 will be a classroom session at Riverwalk. The certification test will be in Week 2.
  2. Fundamentals of Mixology: Weeks 3–6 will be hands-on classes will be held at a location To Be Determined.

Course Information: IMPORTANT NOTE: As of Friday, 4/14, this course was cancelled due to low enrollment. It is our hope to re-offer the Bartending course in the fall 2017 semester:

Dates/Time: Tuesday, 4/25 & 5/2 (weeks 1-2), and Monday, 5/8-6/5 (weeks 3-6 – no class 5/29), 6:00 to 8:30 pm, 6 weeks

Location: Weeks 1–2 are at Riverwalk. Weeks 3–6 will be held at a location To Be Determined.

Cost: $295 + $39 materials fee for ServSafe Test and book and mixology materials
