Personal and Home Care Aide Direct Worker Training Program NEW!
Direct care workers are the cornerstone of the community care network with jobs such as Personal Care Attendant, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Personal Care Homemakers (PCHM) and Home Care Aide. There is a great need for trained direct care workers! A critical shortage of direct care workers is expected due to a projected 51-70% growth in elder and disable population by 2020, the push to keep people in their homes rather than in institutions, and not enough workers with good skills training. This program will train you in the core skills and knowledge to work in this growing field and can also be the starting point for anyone interested in training for other types of healthcare jobs in the future. This 50+ hour training program is free and will start in February, 2013. This program is funded through the MA PHCAST Grant Project T82HP20323 funded by US HHS. More details available soon!
