Core courses must be successfully completed in order to earn the Home Inspector Preparation Program Certificate of Completion required in Mass.  This program was developed 10 years ago and has been updated every year.  This strong program is taught by experienced home inspectors and code officers and is based on Mass, NH, InterNachi, and ASHI standards of practice and Code of Ethics.  This program, once completed,  will provide you with all pre-licensing education requirements.

Report Writing, Environmental Testing
This is a very unique and required course, highly recommended that this dual course be taken at the end of the program.  Typically a 6 hour Saturday class, the first 3 hours are mandatory for the Mass and NH requirements and addresses the importance of the home inspection report.  This also includes how a report is generated, how it should be addressed and issued, how long to archive reports, what software is available to generate your reports, and how to write both a beneficial and defensible report with properly worked recommendations.

The second part of this class will address ancillary home inspectior tasks like how to take a water test, a radon test, etc. and how to get certified and where to set up lab accounts, etc.  It is not a state requirement, but these ancillary tassks are often requested by customers and it both can satisfy their requests and expand the inspector’s channels of revenue.  1 – 6 hour Saturday session

210 HMIN1021-RWA:  Sat, 9am-4pm, one day, 5/18, $125, Riverwalk
