Machine Tool/Machine Operator (CNC) Training Program

This program provides training in the skills necessary to perform basic machine operations of CNC mills and lathes in this noncredit certificate program combining lecture, demonstration, discussion and hands-on exercises. It provides an intro to the programming, setup & tooling for CNCs w/topics including system parts, machine shop measurements, tolerances, fundamental coding, numeric parts programming & operation of CNC turning & milling centers & instruction in applied geometry as needed in CNC tooling.

Classroom section held at NECC Riverwalk; hands-on machining experience is provided at the Greater Lawrence Tech School. A 20 hour internship at a local employer & consulting with instructor follows the 8 week classroom/hands-on portion of the program.
