Machine Tool/Machine Operator (CNC) Training Program
Provides training in skills needed to perform basic machine operations of CNC mills and lathes. This non-credit certification prep program combines lecture, online interactive curriculum, demonstration, discussion, hands-on exercises to provide an intro to programming, setup, and tooling for CNCs with topics including system parts, machine shop measurements, tolerances, fundamental coding, numeric parts programming, and operation of CNC turning ans milling centers. Includes industry recognized online modular curriculum with interactive exercises and hands-on machining experience in machine shop environment. Final week includes skill assessment and NIMS Certification exam.
Pre-requisites: High School Diploma or GED, completed TABE testing in math and reading at 8th grade or higher, and an interview with the College-to-Career Navigator.
Dates/Time: Tuesday through Thursday, 5:00 to 8:00 pm plus 11 hours online per week, 14 weeks, 1/13 to 4/25
