Preparation Course for the
Communication & Literacy Skills Test (CLST) of the MTEL

This ten-hour workshop is designed to prepare for the Communication and Literacy Skills Test (CLST), one of the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) tests.  The CLST is required for licensure as a teacher or educational administrator in Massachusetts and is required for students transferring to teacher education programs at four-year colleges.

This course provides an overview of the test,  intensive review of the skills assessed by the test, the opportunity to take sample tests, and  test-taking strategies. Participants also receive a custom test study guide, personalized feedback on writing samples, and support of the instructor between classes via email.  Please note that this couse provides a rigorous review of skills required to pass the test, rather than actual skill development.

If you would like to discuss your current skills and teaching certification goals and whether this workshop may be appropriate for you, please contact Erin O’Brien at the NECC Center for Careers in Teaching at (978) 738-7436 or eobrien@necc.mass.edu.
