Mission Statement

The mission of the NECC Student Senate is to promote the interests of the students, improve student participation in decision making, and encourage the integration between students, faculty, staff and campus organizations while uniting both campuses in the creation of positive change.

There are 25 seats on the Senate:

5 seats represent the five largest clubs
5 seats are filled with students from the Student Leadership Development Program
15 seats represent academic programs and are elected by the student body

The Senate will be meeting Thursdays 4-6 PM in L244 & A112 via video-conference in the 2017 – 2018 academic year.  The goal of the Senate is to seek out and address the concerns of the student body on both campuses. Traditionally, the senate fundraisers for two leadership scholarships and a nonprofit organization.

Interested in getting involved?  Running for a position is easy!

All candidates must return their completed Intent-To-Run packet to Student Engagement Office (L133 or D105) by 5pm on Friday, April 21, 2017.
o A completed intent to run packet includes:
o Application for Candidacy
o Completed Student Senate nomination petition form containing the signatures of 50 currently enrolled Northern Essex Community College Students
o A headshot and paragraph to support your candidacy can be emailed to Stephanie Bryszkowski.

Are you interested in learning more about the Student Senate? All Senate meetings are open to the public so join us in L-244 & A-112 Thursdays 4-6pm or contact the Student Engagement Center.

Interested in being the student member of the Board of Trustees? Running for this position is easy!
