PACE Transfer/NECC Alumni Mentoring
The PACE program and the Alumni office have joined forces to create the PACE Transfer/NECC Alumni Mentoring program. This enables communication between PACE students preparing to graduate and transfer and NECC Alumni. Alumni mentors have graduated from a four-year college or university with their Bachelor’s degree and have volunteered to mentor a PACE student transferring to the same college.

Mentors and NECC Students
Q: Why have a Mentoring Program?
A: This program is created to assist you with the transition from NECC to a four year college or university. The transition into another school can be challenging and having a Mentor to advise and support you is extremely helpful!
Q: Who is in the Mentoring Program?
A: Prospective PACE graduate/transfers will be matched with NECC alumni who have graduated from a 4 year college or university that the PACE Mentee wishes to attend.
Q: What will happen?
A: PACE students will meet with their Mentor initially on campus at NECC Haverhill or Lawrence. The Mentor will be a support for his/her Mentee to speak with over the phone, via e-mail and/or in person. PACE Mentees and Alumni Mentors will communicate at least once a month.
Q: When is it?
A: The Mentoring Program is ongoing. The Mentor/Mentee relationship will last until the PACE student graduates and transfers to the four year college or university.
Q: Where will it be?
A: Initial meeting will be on campus either Haverhill or Lawrence. Future meetings can be by phone, e-mail or in person. Mentors and mentees work out a schedule that works our best for them.
