Academic Resource & Tutoring Center

Academic Resource & Tutoring Center – for students already enrolled in college-level courses who are looking for extra help. The Academic Resource & Tutoring Center provides a broad network of instructional support services to ensure your success as a student enrolled in NECC courses. The ARTC features walk-in tutoring provided by faculty and peer tutors, a college-level writing lab, a college-level math lab, study groups, and study skills workshops.

Assistance is available on both a walk-in and by-appointment basis.

Developmental Learning Centers

Learning Centers- for students who need assistance in building a stronger academic foundation and acquiring more skills in order to be successful in college-level courses.

NECC has the following Learning Centers on both the Haverhill and Lawrence, MA campuses that provide you with individual or group support on either a drop-in or scheduled basis:

• English Language Center – provides one-on-one tutoring to students enrolled in the college’s ESL classes as well as to former ESL students needing assistance in content-area courses
• Reading Center – provides tutoring support to students enrolled in the Basic Reading, Basic Reading Lab, and College Reading courses.
• Writing Center – provides one-on-one tutoring to students enrolled in the college’s developmental writing courses.

Math Services

The Math Center is designated for all walk-in tutoring. Located on both the Haverhill campus and the Lawrence campus, the centers are staffed by professional and peer tutors who work days and evenings to best accommodate students.
