NECC Adult Literacy and Transition Programs

English Literacy/Civics (ESOL) - Amesbury

This class provides instruction in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Community-based ESOL English literacy instruction includes reading, writing, oral language and critical thinking, within the context of Civics and Citizenship. The experience of living in America is also discussed. Three class levels are offered in Amesbury from Beginner through Intermediate levels. An assessment test is used to place all students.

  • Computer Skills

An ESOL Computer Basics instruction course is also offered on Saturday mornings in Lawrence for EL/Civics students who would like to become proficient in basic computer skills.
