NECC Adult Literacy and Transition Programs
Workplace Education
The Workplace Education Program funds eligible agencies that
provide instructional services in basic literacy, math, and
English for Speakers of Other Languages. These services are
provided to incumbent workers who lack the English skills required
to maintain, and advance in, their employment.
Services are provided through partnerships among businesses,
workers, labor organizations, and adult education providers.
Microsemi
The NECC Adult Literacy and Transition Programs currently coordinate a Workplace Education Program at Microsemi in Lawrence, MA. Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq: MSCC) is a semiconductor manufacturer specializing in system-engineered integrated circuits and high reliability discrete devices to support its steady growth and profitability.
NECC is working with Microsemi-Lawrence to provide four classes to 44 employees who wish to improve their English skills.

Family Daycare
The NECC Adult Literacy and Transition Programs currently coordinate a Workplace Education Program for family daycare providers in Lawrence, MA.
NECC is working with SEIU Local 888 to provide three classes to daycare providers who wish to improve their English skills.
