When To See My Advisor?
Who's My Advisor?
If you are enrolled in an academic program and are taking classes before 5 p.m.:
- You have been assigned a faculty advisor. Your advisor(in most cases) is a full-time faculty member who teaches courses in your program of study.
- You may even find that your faculty advisor is one of your current teachers.
If you are taking evening or Saturday classes or have not declared a major (unclassified):
- You are assigned to a professional staff advisor in Academic Advising .
Academic Advising is an important part of your education at NECC. Make an effort to meet and develop a relationship with your advisor. Take advantage of their expertise and knowledge.
Make sure you:
- Introduce yourself
- Know the location of your advisor’s office

- Need help choosing your electives
- Want to register for classes
- Are confused about your career goals
- Want to know about career options in your major
- Need basic information or assistance with “how to” transfer to a four year college
