Richard Blanco

Richard Blanco

NECC has made a tremendous effort to expose its students, professors and staff to an array of talented and highly-respected poets and writers. Richard Blanco is a Cuban-American poet who is not afraid of putting his family and heritage as the anchor of his work. He was the first openly gay person and first Latino to speak at a Presidential Inauguration when he read his poem “One Today” at President Obama’s second inauguration.
