Denise Arnold, Emmaus, Inc. and Joan Parah, Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill with NECC faculty and staff.

The Civic Engagement and Service-Learning Coordinator worked to create and strengthen relationships with non-profit community partners in both Haverhill and Lawrence. She met with 18 local community organizations, interested in partnering with NECC for service-learning and volunteerism.

The Coordinator began working more directly with students in the late spring semester. She provided referrals to 16 students seeking community service/volunteer placements.

The annual recognition event in the spring was expanded to include civic engagement activities this year. At the event, 205 students were recognized for their work in the community!
