Introduction to Islam: Some Basic Concepts – A One Geographic Region First Friday Presentation
Dr. Ligia Domenech will introduce some of the basics of the history and the beliefs in Islam. This presentation will begin with Muhammad’s story and then learn about the Sunni/Shia division, the Qur’an, the Five Pillars, the view of women, the meaning of the veil, and the meaning of jihad.
This presentation is free and open to faculty, staff and students.
