Wadjda – A One Geographic Region First Friday Film

This award-winning film tells the story of a 10-year old girl in Saudi Arabia and her quest for a beautiful bicycle. The film was shot entirely in Saudi Arabia and was directed by a woman. The New York Times says, “there is warmth as well as austerity in Wadjda’s world, kindness as well as cruelty, and the possibility, modestly sketched and ardently desired, of change.”

This film is free and open to faculty, staff and students.
