Educating the Campus

Through a variety of events, students, faculty and staff were offered opportunities to learn more about the importance of civic engagement, the MA ballot questions, and the technology behind our voting system.  In an effort to better educate our community on the candidates, NECC held its Own Big “Presidential” Debate.  Faculty members Andrew Morse, Patricia Portanova, Steve Russell, and Steve Slaner bravely represented the Presidential candidates from the four major political parties.  Over 200 students attended these campus wide events.

Excerpt from a news article under the professors picture reads: "Expert: Electronic election fraud risks low in Bay State. Haverhill - Should residents worry about voting systems here and elsewhere in the U.S. being hijacked during the presidential election?" Link opens the full article on eagletribune.com
