Sarah’s Place Adult Day Health – Saturday, April 6, 2013 8:30am-3pm
Sarah’s Place is a non-profit adult day health center in Haverhill that provides day care services for the elderly and infirmed. On Saturday, April 6th, (foul weather date: Saturday, April 13th) a group of 15 NECC students and staff can volunteer to help clean and paint the indoor facilities. All supplies are provided and volunteers will receive snacks, beverages and lunch during the day. A sign-up sheet to volunteer is located outside the office of Professor Cynthia Crivaro (C314B). Spaces for volunteers are limited.
Restoring Haverhill’s History – Saturday, April 20th, 2013 from 8:30am – 3:30pm (rain date: Saturday, April 27th)
On Saturday,April 20th, 2013 from 8:30am – 3:30pm, 18 NECC students can volunteer to help repair and restore the property at John Greenleaf Whittier’s Birthplace off Route 110 in Haverhill. Tasks that day include: cleaning out the barn, groundwork (weed removal, raking), possible painting, etc. Volunteers will be given a tour of the museum and receive a commemorative tee shirt, and water, lunch and snacks will be provided.
A sign-up sheet for volunteers is posted outside the office of Professor Cynthia Crivaro, C314B in Spurk on the Haverhill campus. Only 18 students may participate on a first come, first served basis.
