The Massachusetts Family Sign Language Program is coordinated by the Gallaudet University Regional Center and the program will send a deaf or hard of hearing tutor into the family’s home once a week to work with the family. The goal of this program is to introduce family members to Sign Language, enabling them to communicate with their child at the earliest age possible.

Shared Reading Saturdays (part of the Shared Reading Project) is designed to teach parents and other caregivers how to read to their deaf or hard of hearing children using American Sign Language and how to use strategies to make book sharing most effective.  The program meets one Saturday a month in Lawrence, MA.

The Wheelock Family Theatre, located in Boston, has many of it’s shows interpreted into American Sign Language (ASL) for people who are deaf and hard of hearing and Audio Described (AD) for those with vision impairments.   Note: All public performances have Open Captioning (OC).  Click here for a list of the ASL accessible shows that will be offered this season.

ASL Program at the New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium offers ASL interpreted programs from 1-4pm on the first Sunday of every month.  All programs are included in the admission price.
