General NECC Scholarship opportunities listed below are for the 2013-2014 school year

Northern Essex Community College has a number of scholarship awards available to students from private donors, through the Office of Institutional Advancement located on our Haverhill Campus, Bentley Library – Room A317.
Please review all instructions and eligibility requirements prior to applying.

General requirements:
Please review all instructions and eligibility requirements below:
- Must have 9 credits completed at Northern Essex by the end of the Fall 2012 semester
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Register for Fall 2013 semester for a minimum of 6 credits by May 17, 2013.
- Completed application forms should include:
- Check off personal information boxes on application form (some scholarships require this voluntary personal information)
- Second Essay if required
- Answer 2 essay questions on online application
- Letter of Recommendation
- This can be from a current or past faculty member, advisor or employer (no family members). Ask the person writing the letter to email it to scholarships@necc.mass.edu or mail to Institutional Advancement, Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliott Street, Haverhill, MA 01830 by April 12, 2013.
You must register for fall classes before your application can be reviewed by the scholarship committee.
- If you drop below the scholarship award minimum of six (6) credits by the end of any term for which you receive a scholarship award, the award will be rescinded and you will be billed for that term.
- If at the end of the Spring 2014 term funds are unused, they will be rescinded; at no time will scholarship award funds be given directly to a student.
Applicants usually receive notification by the beginning of July. Recipients must write a thank you note for the donor, as well as return a signed letter showing they agree to the terms of the award.
Awards usually are sent to the NECC Bursar’s Office after the fall add/drop period to be applied directly towards student bills for tuition, fees, books and health insurance.
