Work Study Opportunities

Work-Study opportunities are available for on-campus or approved off-campus positions. NECC encourages students to work in community service and/or to find work related to their course of study. To apply for one of the Open Positions listed below, please contact the supervisor directly by email.

FWS Application Process

  • Students can apply for FWS positions by viewing open positions, and contacting supervisors of positions they are eligible for, and for which they wish to apply. If you wish to check whether you would be eligible for work-study, contact Financial Aid.
  • If hired, a student must complete all required forms and receive confirmation of authorization from the NECC Work-Study coordinator before he/she can start working.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Employee will be responsible for guiding Haverhill campus tours, making admissions packets for new and prospective students, facilitating Information Sessions in the absence of Admissions Counselors. Responsibilities also include phone outreach to prospective students encouraging registration and assessment text completion as well as son office filing and photo copying.

Minimum Qualifications:

Positive attitude, responsibility, excellent communication skills, public speaking skills, data entry as well as experience with Microsoft Office.

CAEPP Student Program Assistant

Jumpstart Corps Member

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Jumpstart Corps member position is open to caring adults committed to Jumpstart’s mission to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed and who are able to serve 10-15 hours per week (for a total of at least 200 to 300 hours) during the school year.  Corps members work in preschool classrooms with children. Responsibilities include participating in Jumpstart sessions each week on a team, participating in team planning meetings, serve classroom assistance time, participating in intensive pre- and in-service training, and attending periodic service days. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Availability on M/W or T/Th from 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm, desire to work with young children, reliable, dedicated, professional attitude and ability to work on a team.

Parking Data Entry Clerk (Haverhill Campus)

Job Description/Responsibilities:  

Employee will be expected to perform basic clerical tasks and assist the Bursar’s office with parking decal and citation projects. Employee must maintain confidentiality. Duties include but are not limited to:

·         Uploading parking data file online to Rydin Permit Express system on a daily basis

·         Accurately enter parking decal sale application information to Rydin system and assign parking decal number

·         Accurately enter parking citation payment information online onto Rydin system

·         File the parking decal sale applications and the citation receipt forms

·         Generate parking citation late notices

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of standard office procedure and practices. Ability to use a personal computer, understand and follow written and oral instructions, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Attention to detail and flexibility. Employee must be punctual and reliable.

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

Assist in overseeing the Recreation Area and Snack Bar.  This includes serving snack bar items, monetary exchange, distributing and collecting recreational equipment and cleaning the area daily. Assist in the setup, breakdown and tracking game statistics at home athletic events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good communication and interpersonal skills, dependable, and able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be proficient in money handling. Must be available to work during the hours of 10am - 1pm, plus some night and weekend hours for game coverage. Must have a working knowledge of the game of basketball.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Duties include asking for monetary donations from NECC Alumni and Friends, exercising effective communication skills and demonstrating knowledge of and enthusiasm for NECC, programs available and available benefits. Responsible for recording data accurately with confidentiality (new donor information, gift amounts, etc.) and meeting phonathon performance standards and nightly goals.  Must provide feedback about phonathon and accept constructive feedback/coaching from the NECC staff. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Able to speak English clearly and communicate effectively by telephone, exhibit a courteous and engaging personality, and having positive and respectful attitude. Must be dependable and able to work evening hours.

Tutoring Center Assistant

  1. Provide reception to students who access the Tutoring Center Resources.
  2. Assist tutors and staff in day-to-day operations of the Tutoring Center.
  3. Liaison with Graphics, and post brochures and flyers for campus-wide distribution.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Computer skills (Microsoft Office), administrative skills (attention to detail), interpersonal skills, reliability, initiative, and good follow-through. Customer service experience is a plus. Availability at mid-day on some weekdays is preferred.
