Work Study Opportunities

Work-Study opportunities are available for on-campus or approved off-campus positions. NECC encourages students to work in community service and/or to find work related to their course of study. To apply for one of the Open Positions listed below, please contact the supervisor directly by email.

FWS Application Process

  • Students can apply for FWS positions by viewing open positions, and contacting supervisors of positions they are eligible for, and for which they wish to apply. If you wish to check whether you would be eligible for work-study, contact Financial Aid.
  • If hired, a student must complete all required forms and receive confirmation of authorization from the NECC Work-Study coordinator before he/she can start working.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with set up and clean-up of home athletic events and in game management. Must have a working knowledge of college basketball rules.
  • Additional responsibilities will include athletic marketing and website development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, proficient computer skills, ability to lift 25 lbs. Nights and weekend work is required.

Job Description/Responsibilities:  

In this job you will be working with Athletic director, assistant athletic director, coaches and student-athletes and assist with daily events/activities. You will assist with marketing department and games, entering stats and schedules on NJCAA website and NECC website. Working with budget and officials. Work home game as Scorekeeper/statistician, set up and breakdown. (Some nights and weekends required)

Civic Engagement & Service-Learning Assistant

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Employee will be assisting with the civic engagement and service learning programming, including: Marketing and promotion of programming (including social media – Facebook and Twitter, etc.); Promotion of civic engagement at NECC, including assisting students to register to vote; Assisting with promotion and execution of program events and activities; Assisting students to find a community partner to complete service hours and conducting follow up with students; General assistance with the Career Center; Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Positive attitude, computer skills (Microsoft Office and e-mail), administrative skills (attention to detail), experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.), interpersonal skills, reliability, initiative, and good follow through.  Availability during the day on weekdays is preferred.  The position will be based in the Career Center in the Haverhill Campus, but ability and willingness to travel to Lawrence campus occasionally desired.

Job Description/Responsibilities:
Student callers play a crucial role in fostering and maintaining the college’s relationship with its graduate population. Duties include requesting monetary donations from NECC alumni and friends, recording data accurately and confidentially (new donor information, gift amounts, etc.), and meeting Phonathon performance standards and goals. Additional office duties may be assigned as needed. Applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills, knowledge of NECC programs, and a positive attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to speak clearly and confidently over the phone; ability to work weekday nights on an intermittent basis (until 8:00).
