      MaCIE Lecture Series Description and Faculty Application word

      The MaCIE Lecture Series is designed to promote international understanding and learning throughout the public institutions of higher education in Massachusetts. Individuals with international knowledge and experience will compete with colleagues across the state for the honor of being a MaCIE lecturer. The intended audience for this lecture is the faculty, staff, and students at each host institution. In addition to making a formal presentation on the selected topic, the MaCIE Lecturer may visit classes, spend time with faculty and meet with students. The lecture will be a n opportunity for the host institution to learn about issues of importance in the area of international education, and the speaker to learn more about his/her sister institutions.

      The speaker will receive a $300 honorarium from MaCIE for each official campus visit. This honorarium will be supplemented by $100 honorarium by the host institution. Generally, MaCIE Lecturers have an expectation of receiving 2 paid lectures during the academic year, with any additional lectures to be sponsored by the host institution only.
