In 1843 Charles Dickens penned what would become known as the quintessential holiday play, “A Christmas Carol”. Northern Essex Community College, with a cast comprised of students, faculty, alumni, and staff, brings it to life December 7 through 9 in the Chester W. Hawrylciw Theater on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.

Presented in an intimate theater setting, this adaptation features NECC alumnus Mark Morrison of Georgetown as Scrooge. Fellow alumni Eric and Emily Salvi of Haverhill, as well as their three children Eric, Jr., Ella, and Evie, also appear in the play.

NECC professor Deirdre Budzyna and her husband John, residents of Newburyport, are directing this year’s production.
