Green Job Training & Certification for Weatherization & Energy Auditors NEW!
This fast track program provides intensive job training and preparation for the natiionally recognized BPI Building Analyst I certification for weatherization and energy auditors. The Building Performance Institute (BPI) is a nationally recognized institute committed to the development of a highly professional home performance industry, and the BPI Building Analyst Certification is currently the nationally recommended certification for energy auditors. CleanEdison, an affiliate of the Building Performance Institute, will provide the instruction, materials and testing for this fine program.
Through a combination of classroom work, speaking to various building professionals, on-site visits and hands on training, you will have a unique opportunity to see the classroom fundamentals in practice and learn the "house-as-a-system" approach to contracting and home assessment, skills to identify causes and solutions for issues like energy efficiency, air quality, safety and durability. The goal of the program is to prepare you for real world application of skills and to provide you with the comprehensive understanding you need to pass the written and field certification examinations that will be administered at the end of the class.
This BPI certification program will provide you with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of home energy performance evaluation and assessment and also help you build a more credible name for yourself. If you are already involved in construction, home inspection, or other businesses related to building performance, this will also help you expand your skills and services by adding home energy assessments and retrofits.
The winter/spring, 2010 program is scheduled to run Monday, March 22nd through Friday, March 26th. Students should plan to attend the program for five full days from 9am to approximately 5pm; variations may be necessary depending on class size, site visit and testing schedule. Students should also plan time to study the material before taking the exam. The classroom portion will be held at the Northern Essex Community College Corporate and Community Education Center in North Andover.
Students are strongly encourage to register as early as possible, preferably at least three weeks in advance so that there is sufficient time for CleanEdison to send you critical information and materials to study before the class begins.
The course fee of $1,675 includes all classroom and field training, the BPI Building Analyst written exam, BPI Analyst one-on-one field exam, CleanEdison workbook, CleanEdison field guide, and CleanEdison Definitions and Useful Formulas.
