ServSafe Certification - Food Sanitation
Safe food handling is critical to keeping
customers and co-workers safe, protects
against the costly nightmare of food borne
illness, minimizes insurance costs, reduces
liability risks, improves food quality, and
ensures compliance with the new Department
of Public Health regulations. Offered in
association with the National Restaurant
Association Educational Foundation, ServSafe
is a comprehensive eight-hour course that
provides an overview of basic sanitation
policies and procedures and prepares you to
pass the ServSafe Certification exam given
during the last class. ServSafe is recognized
by the Department of Public Health and is
recommended for all food service managers,
supervisors, owners and employees, including
cooks, chefs, and wait staff. Students who
pass the exam will be awarded the ServSafe
Certification by the National Restaurant
Association Educational Foundation. Fees
cover instruction, materials, and testing.
Instructor: Heidi Riccio, Certified ServSafe Instructor.
