MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT CERTIFICATE

The Medical Office Assistant certificate program prepares students to work as entry level medical office assistants, receptionists, appointment schedulers or medical record clerks. The Medical Office Assistant typically works in healthcare centers, clinics, home health agencies and ambulatory care centers. Through the course of study, students will learn medical terminology, effective communication skills, computer applications and front office management procedures. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the National Healthcare Association certification exam. Students must earn a grade of “C” in all career courses in order to graduate. A minimum of 22 credits hours are required for graduation.
