Meet the Coaches

Head Coach – Jeff Mejia

Mejia leaves Suffolk University where has spent the past seven seasons as an assistant coach working primarily with the Rams infielders.

Mejia takes over a Knights team that finished the 2012 season with a 30-9 overall record. In 2011 the Knights finished the season with a 21-12 overall record as they were runners-up in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division-III Region 21 tournament. In their program history the Knights have one regional championship (2005), and were runners-up three times (1993, 2005 and 2011), while also winning six Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference titles.

During his time at Suffolk, the Rams won one Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship earning a berth into the NCAA Division-III regional tournament. Suffolk appeared in the conference finals in six of Mejia’s seven seasons. In that span nine of Suffolk’s infielders have earned All-Conference selection by the GNAC under Mejia’s direction, while three infielders were honored by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) as All-New England regional all-stars.

Mejia is also co-founder of the Boston Jr. Rams AAU Baseball program. Founded in 2007 the program has nearly quadrupled in size as the Jr. Rams will field 11 youth baseball teams in 2013 ranging from ages 9-18.
Mejia and Suffolk University Head Baseball Coach Cary McConnell are also part owners of the Rams Athletic Complex, an indoor baseball training facility in North Reading, MA that opened in 2011.
Mejia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Salem State College in Sports Fitness and Leisure Studies with a concentration in Coaching and a minor in Biology.

Jeff was a proud member of the United States Army and served in Operation Desert Storm
Jeff and his wife Colleen currently reside in North Reading with their two children, Jeffrey Jr. (15) and Isabella (13).
