Track & Field
2012 Season Preview:
The Men’s side is loaded with hard working talented individuals looking to make a mark this season. We have a small team but I’ll take quality over quantity any day of the week. The addition of former sprinter Michael Guay who is now our Assistant coach will be a huge step going forward. Michael provides us with a lot of experience and the athletes will benefit greatly from having him on our staff. Sprinter Anthony Rinaldi who was a top high school sprinter in New England will be a major force this season. Rinaldi is looking to become the first national men’s champion since James Mwgani in 2006. Anthony is a determined fierce competitor who loves to compete. He is up for the challenge and win or lose he will fight to the end. I’m looking forward to coaching him this spring in the sprinting and field events. Anthony Giorgi & Gabriel Frias will be looking to make their mark in the hurdles. Anthony Girogi is eager to get on the track for the first time at NECC looking to also become a National Champion in the 110 HH’s.
Dan Busta is our field event’s specialist. Dan can pretty much do anything and were glad to have him on board with us. The Javelin is his main event.
Finally Brandon Doyle will be finishing up his final semester at Northern Essex as he looks to qualify once again in the 10,000. Brandon is a tough distance runner who has improved tremendously and is looking to close out his career placing at the National Championships in the top 8.
