Congratulations on taking the first step to further your education! As the newest member of the Northern Essex community we are looking forward to meeting you at Orientation.  Our goal is to help students get acquainted with NECC, college life and ensure that each student leaves with everything they will need to be a successful student. All new students registered for six credits or more are required to attend this 4-hour Introduction to Northern Essex Community College.

You will be contacted regarding the date of your orientation session by the New Student Orientation Team.  Topics will include: classroom expectations, financial planning for college, and college success resources on campus.  In addition, you will have an opportunity to get your student ID card and speak with current students.  New Student Orientation will be offered in July and August in Haverhill and Lawrence.  For more information, please contact the New Student Orientation Department at 978/556-3805.

Now hiring New Student Orientation Leaders!  Applications are available in the Student Engagement Center or online and are due Wednesday, April 2^nd 5pm. 

Student Leader Responsibilities

• Work with the Student Engagement Center to reschedule students to Orientation
• Assist with campus tours and photo ID sessions
• Maintain contact throughout the summer and fall with the assigned cohort of students
• Administrative tasks including; database entry, filing, phone monitoring etc.
• Assist with the coordination of programs and content for Orientation
• Help facilitate group discussions and answer student questions
