Bridge Program


The Northern Essex Community College (NECC) Bridge Program is sponsored by the Student Success Center for incoming Latino(a) college students. It is designed to help ease students’ adjustment to college life and build a foundation for academic success. The two week program will help participants improve their Math and English language skills, as well as introduce them to student support services. Incoming freshman students will become acquainted with NECC resources, meet current students and alumni; learn effective note taking and study skills, stress and time management techniques, learn about their strengths and explore academic programs & career choices.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a Hispanic 2016 high school graduate with a minimum 2.50 GPA.
  • Be registered in at least 2 courses for Fall 2016 at NECC.
  • Have completed the NECC Assessment by deadline date.
  • Be committed to attend the entire summer bridge program, August 1 – August 12, 2016.


Monday, August 1– Friday, August 12, 2016; 8:00AM to 3:00PM

Deadline and Application Process

Applications for the NECC Bridge Program will be accepted until we reach our limited space. Applicants may view and print program application here. Completed applications should be sent to NECC Student Success Center, Room L 109 at 45 Franklin Street, Lawrence, MA 01840-1121.  The program is limited to 15 students.  Materials, books, and lunch will be provided free of charge.
