PHP’s objective is to empower parents to nurture children and prevent child abuse by providing a 24-hour Parental Stress hotline as well as a network of free, anonymous, and confidential parent support groups led by trained volunteer staff. The Parental Stress Hotline encourages callers to find their inner resources and information by asking open ended questions to empower the caller to develop their own plan of action and assist them in thinking through steps to move toward their goal. The PHP support groups bring parents together in a functioned group and help them to become aware of how emotions affect behavior all while helping to improve parental skills.
