Student Safety & Emergency Response Information

A Message From Student Activities …

Northern Essex Community College is proud to offer a long list of excellent Student Services. Many are designed to ease a new student’s transition into the community college environment. Others have been specifically created to serve as valuable support systems for existing students in need of some assistance. There are also many other services and programs that have been put in place to help our students enjoy a more complete college life experience. Valuable information about many of the NECC’s student-related services can be found in this section of our web site. If you require any additional information, please contact NECC’s office of Enrollment Management and Student Services at 978-556-3626.

In addition to providing you with this safety information, the Student Activities & Orientation Department, Student Health Services, and the Wellness & Fitness Center work with other departments on campus to sponsor special programs and seminars on topics such as date rape, domestic violence, self-defense, wellness and stress management-topics which can directly or indirectly impact your personal safety as a college student.

Stop by the Student Activities & Orientation Department in the Student Center (room F-133) on the Haverhill campus and on the Lawrence campus (room 133) to share your ideas about special programs that might benefit you. Remember that personal safety is a cooperative effort.

A Message From Campus Security …

At, NECC, the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority. The security staff helps to keep the campuses safe, but a truly safe campus can only be achieved through everyone’s cooperation. We hope this information helps insure that our efforts are effective. We hope you will read it carefully to help make your college experience a safe one.

NECC’s primary campuses are located in Haverhill and Lawrence, two of the largest population centers of the Merrimack Valley. In this suburban and urban environment, students and others have the opportunity to partake in the College’s and the Valley’s diverse attractions and activities, but please use common sense and care, and be alert at all times. We are here to help insure that your NECC experience is a positive one, but the decisions you make and the precautions you take influence your safety the most. Have a great semester!
