Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Employment Opportunities

NECC provides communication access for all campus-related activities including on-going classes, tutorials, advising sessions, meetings and other situations as requested and approved. Services are provided to students, staff and community members who are deaf or hard of hearing and participate in college activities, programs and services.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services hires qualified freelance service providers for many campus assignments. Interpreters and Speech-to-Text (CART, C-Print, etc.) freelance providers interested in working at NECC are encouraged to contact the Manager at deafservices@necc.mass.edu or the Accommodations Scheduler at interpret@necc.mass.edu.

The following information has been compiled to clarify expectations and responsibilities of freelance service providers who contract their services with NECC and to provide a basic understanding of the standard practices for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.
Any questions concerning the contents of these guidelines should be directed to the Accommodations Scheduler or Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Manager.
