Meet the College Navigators
Tatiana is proud to be raised in Lawrence and to be a first generation high school and college student. She knows the goals, values and challenges of the Merrimack Valley region. She has worked in direct care positions for several years with people in different stages of life, giving her a deep understanding of how to help vulnerable individuals to access services, transition into new situations and improve their quality of life. She is excited about her new role as College Navigator and to be working with the students at NECC. Tatiana is the College Navigator for all new students who are enrolled in programs within the Liberal Arts Academic Center, and Science majors in the STEM Academic Center.
Born and raised in California, Tiffany Esmerio has traveled coast to coast to join us here at NECC. For three years, she was a Pathways Academic Advisor at a community college in Texas and helped diverse students discover their passions, and achieve their academic goals. She is a first-generation student with personal experience navigating the ups and downs of higher education. Tiffany is the spouse of a Navy Veteran/Active Duty Coast Guardsmen, and is familiar with the challenges military members and their dependents face while attending college. As a former art instructor, Halloween is her favorite holiday; she loves applying artistic makeup and making her husband and sons participate in themed costumes each year. Tiffany is the College Navigator for students in the Business & Accounting Academic Center and Computer & Information Sciences and Engineering & Technology majors in the STEM Academic Center.
Kirsten is the Director of the Office of Transitional Support for New Students, which is just the fancy title for the New Student Gateway! She has been at NECC for 9 years, during which time she has worked with new students in a variety of ways. Her passion is helping students to feel confident and connected to the college, which is the whole purpose of the New Student Gateway. When she is not at work, Kirsten enjoys running (join her on Mondays at the President’s Running Club!), and spending time with her husband and dogs. Kirsten is the College Navigator for students in the Professional Studies Academic Center, students enrolled in the Exploratory program, and all dual-enrollment / Early College students.
