International Women’s Day: #ChooseToChallenge – Women Take the Floor!
March 8, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Celebrate International Women’s Day!
In celebration of International Women’s Day, NECC students, faculty and staff are invited to virtually join Dalia Habib Linssen, Head of Academic Engagement at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, for an in-depth exploration Women Take the Floor, an exhibition that challenges the dominant history of 20th century American art by focusing on the overlooked and underrepresented work and stories of women artists. The interactive session offers an overview of the exhibition’s central themes, with examples of specific artists, and includes time for discussion.
“International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality. The 2021 theme is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world. And from challenge comes change. ” (From https://www.internationalwomensday.com)
