Join Us for a Co-Student Directed Adaptation Of “Love/Sick,” a Play About How Love Can Be Messy, Funny, and Sad

Two students each sit on the opposite side of a wall with a hand pressed against the wall as if they are connecting through it, and both students are looking down at the floor with a sad expression.
NECC students (left) Aileen Corniel of Lawrence plays Celia and Noah Greenstein of Boxford plays Keith in the scene “The Answer” from “Love Sick”.

“The play is actually a series of vignettes,” says Brianne Beverage, NECC theater professor and advisor to the Topnotch Players. “Each unrelated to each other, but with an overarching theme of love.”

American, playwright John Cariani, wrote the contemporary, one-act play, which is actually a collection of nine scenes, and Four Northern Essex students are directing different scenes in the play.

The play is being produced by Dierdree Glassford of Newmarket, NH, who is also co-directing with Ben Beverage of Lawrence and Geehae Moon of Newton, NH, and Sarah Durning of North Andover. Moon is sharing stage manager responsibilities with Matthew P. Brides of West Newbury.

$12 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door
