It is important to raise awareness about language that it is appropriate to use when talking to or about persons with disabilities. Person first language is language that puts a person before their diagnosis, such as being a person with a disability. Identity first language is a language that leads with a person’s diagnosis, such as being a disabled person.
This workshop will explore respectful, balanced, neutral, and objective language and etiquette tips regarding individuals with disabilities.
