Rooting Ourselves In History To Engage In Democracy, A Constitution Day Two-Part Webinar will be presented virtually on Constitution Day. This is a collaboration event hosted by Massachusetts Community Colleges, Campus Compact for Southern New England (CCSNE), and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (MA DHE) for MA community college students.
Session one, Rooting Ourselves in History will cover constitution history, voter suppression, and mobilization from 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. Speakers will include Dr. John Reiff from the DH), Dr. Calvin Hill of Springfield College, and LaTosha Brown from the Black Voters Matter Fund.
Session two, Engage in Democracy will cover why we do the work, toolkits, and best practices from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. Panelists will include Nancy Murray of ACLU, John Coviello from New Voters Project, McKenzie Saunders from MassBay Community College, as well as MA Public Officials.
