Work Study Opportunities

Work-Study opportunities are available for on-campus or approved off-campus positions. NECC encourages students to work in community service and/or to find work related to their course of study. To apply for one of the Open Positions listed below, please contact the supervisor directly by email.

FWS Application Process

  • Students can apply for FWS positions by viewing open positions, and contacting supervisors of positions they are eligible for, and for which they wish to apply. If you wish to check whether you would be eligible for work-study, contact Financial Aid.
  • If hired, a student must complete all required forms and receive confirmation of authorization from the NECC Work-Study coordinator before he/she can start working.

Archives Technician

Job Title: Archives Technician

Job Description/Responsibilities:  

The Archives Technician will work with the library director to digitize specific parts of the NECC archives collection. The primary responsibilities will be to scan a large collection of photographs, and add identifying information about the photos into an online spreadsheet. The newly created digital photos will be made available to the public through the NOBLE Digital Heritage site once completed. Hours are flexible.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

The Archives Technician should have some experience working with digital photographs, and a basic understanding of how to capture digital images using a flatbed scanner. Attention to detail and patience with technology is a must. This would be an excellent opportunity for a photography student, or someone interested in the college’s history, but we welcome applicants from any discipline.

CIT Lab Assistant

Student will assist CIT staff in a variety of duties that include the following, but are not limited to:

Jumpstart Corps Member

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Jumpstart Corps member position is open to caring adults committed to Jumpstart’s mission to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed and who are able to serve 10-15 hours per week (for a total of at least 200 to 300 hours) during the school year.  Corps members work in preschool classrooms with children. Responsibilities include participating in Jumpstart sessions each week on a team, participating in team planning meetings, serve classroom assistance time, participating in intensive pre- and in-service training, and attending periodic service days. 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Availability on M/W or T/Th from 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm, desire to work with young children, reliable, dedicated, professional attitude and ability to work on a team.

Students will assist with marketing and promotion of live performing arts kids shows in schools, theaters and other facilities throughout the seacoast MA and NH region. Students will help with public outreach, create promotional materials, update websites and disseminate promo materials in public places. Students will assist with managing mailing list databases and other marketing programs. Students assist in production, including helping set up/operate PA and Lighting equipment and stage management.

We are looking for a work study on Thursday evenings form 6:00-9:00pm to help tutor students in a MyMathLab classroom. The tutor would be working one-on-one helping students with pre-college math topics ranging from Basic Arithmetic to Algebra II. 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

The candidate should be confident in their skills in high-school math including factoring/expanding polynomials, graphing functions of lines and parabolas, and using the quadratic equation. Some experience with Trigonometry and Calculus is preferred, but not necessary.
