Work Study Opportunities

Work-Study opportunities are available for on-campus or approved off-campus positions. NECC encourages students to work in community service and/or to find work related to their course of study. To apply for one of the Open Positions listed below, please contact the supervisor directly by email.

FWS Application Process

  • Students can apply for FWS positions by viewing open positions, and contacting supervisors of positions they are eligible for, and for which they wish to apply. If you wish to check whether you would be eligible for work-study, contact Financial Aid.
  • If hired, a student must complete all required forms and receive confirmation of authorization from the NECC Work-Study coordinator before he/she can start working.

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

Employee will be responsible for guiding Haverhill campus tours, making admissions packets for new and prospective students, facilitating Information Sessions in the absence of Admissions Counselors. Responsibilities also include phone outreach to prospective students encouraging registration and assessment text completion as well as son office filing and photo copying. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Positive attitude, responsibility, excellent communication skills, public speaking skills, data entry as well as experience with Microsoft Office.

Job Description/Responsibilities: 

Familiar with MS Office; answer phones; assist college community as needed; setup wireless accounts; enforce policies of the computer lab; ability to assist in solving computer problems.  Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and able to follow instructions.  Candidate must be able to commit to a regular schedule.

Jumpstart Corps Member

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Jumpstart Corps member position is open to caring adults committed to Jumpstart’s mission to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed and who are able to serve 10-15 hours per week (for a total of at least 200 to 300 hours) during the school year.  Corps members work in preschool classrooms with children. Responsibilities include participating in Jumpstart sessions each week on a team, participating in team planning meetings, serve classroom assistance time, participating in intensive pre- and in-service training, and attending periodic service days. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Availability on M/W or T/Th from 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm, desire to work with young children, reliable, dedicated, professional attitude and ability to work on a team.

Job Description/Responsibilities:  

Employee will be responsible for organizing and photocopying materials, assisting with mailings, organizing/distributing faculty textbooks for instructions, assisting with posting of class cancellations, bulletin board announcements and delivering materials within the college community. Some computer work and excel spreadsheet duties required with supervision.

Parking Data Entry Clerk

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Employee will be expected to perform basic clerical tasks and assist the Bursar’s office with parking decal and citation projects. Employee must maintain confidentiality. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Uploading parking data file online to Rydin Permit Express system on a daily basis
  • Accurately enter parking decal sale application information to Rydin system and assign parking decal number
  • Accurately enter parking citation payment information online onto Rydin system
  • File the parking decal sale applications and the citation receipt forms
  • Generate parking citation late notices

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of standard office procedure and practices. Ability to use a personal computer, understand and follow written and oral instructions, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Attention to detail and flexibility. Employee must be punctual and reliable.

Student Assistant to Athletic Director

Employee will be working with the athletic department budget, ordering equipment, assisting with marketing and promotion of the athletic department, working at NECC home games, managing the scoreboard, and keeping stats. Responsibilities also include updating the NJACC and NECC website along with other duties to ensure operations run smoothly. Some night and weekends required.
