Important Announcement For Students About Summer and Fall 2020 Semester Courses – May 26 2020
Fall 2020 Courses
Northern Essex Community College originally scheduled many Fall 2020 courses to be held face-to-face on campus. Due to the uncertainties imposed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NECC is now announcing that most of those face-to-face courses will instead be offered as online courses this fall. These courses will be carefully designed to help students succeed in an online format with extensive preparation for the faculty over the summer. This means that about 80% of the course sections offered this fall will be online. The rest of the courses will still involve at least some on campus work for students. These will be primarily in the Health Professions and courses with Science labs but may include a handful of sections in other disciplines as well.
Fall courses originally scheduled to be online, will continue to run online without any changes.
We will be adjusting the fall course schedule over the next two weeks to reflect these changes. We appreciate your patience while we do this work.
If you have already registered for a face-to-face course for the Fall, the college will be reaching out to you once the fall course schedule is adjusted to explain what will happen with your courses and to assist you with any changes you wish to make to your planned schedule.
If you have not registered yet, you can always contact email@example.com with questions.
Summer 2020 Courses
Northern Essex Community College originally scheduled some Summer 2020 courses to be held face-to-face on campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, any such courses have had to run in remote mode so far. NECC is now announcing that all of our originally scheduled face-to-face courses will stay in remote mode for the entire summer with just a few exceptions. The exceptions include just a handful of courses (in Science and Health Professions) that will require some limited amount of on campus time later this summer.
If any courses you register for require some on campus time this summer, your instructor will inform you and provide you instructions on when and how these campus sessions will work. Such on campus sessions will occur AFTER July 1st, and will involve social distancing and other practices to assure the health and safety of our students.
Summer courses originally scheduled to be online, will continue to run online without any changes.Print View
